BSc Psychology、BSc Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscienceプログラムは、1年目に同じモジュールで進み、心理学の基礎をしっかりと身につけることを目指します。1年目の終わりに2つの学位プログラムの間で変更することが可能です。両方の学位プログラムは、同様に良いキャリアの機会を提供します。2つの学位の主な違いは、BSc Psychologyが純粋な心理学であるのに対し、BSc Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscienceは、生物学的プロセスに重きを置いて設けされているということです。

2年目に、１或いは2学期をイギリスのキャンパスで留学する機会があります。最終学年では、さまざまな高度なトピックから選択することができます。BSc Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscienceを学習する場合、認知神経科学モジュールの40単位を取得する必要があり、残りのクレジットが他のモジュールから選ぶことができます。BSc Psychologyの場合、両方のモジュールから選択する柔軟性を持っています。

ファンデーションコース

Foundation in Scienceは、1 + 3年間のプログラムであり、学部に直接受け入れることができます。このコースは、最適な学習環境を作り、言語強化、数学、クリティカルシンキング，及び学習能力を目指しています。その上、学生が選択モジュール中に選んだ学部に関連するトピックを学ぶことができます。例えば、chemistry, ecology, computer programming or psychologyに進学する機会があります。






プログラムの内容

コースの構成

◼︎1年目
生物学、認知心理学、発達心理学、社会心理学の中核となる分野を紹介します。理論的な原理だけでなく、臨床、教育、工学の設定などの応用的な側面もカバーしています。その上、分析の統計的な方法と心理学的または認知神経科学の実験を計画し、実施し、報告する方法を学びます。また、他のスクールから2つのモジュールを履修することができます。

◼︎2年目
理解を深め、より高度な理論的問題に取り組み、同時に関連する研究方法のトレーニングを継続し、研究を行う自立性を高めます。実践的なセッションは、5週間のグループプロジェクトのシリーズで行われ、より高度な統計学のコースも学習します。

◼︎3年目
最終学年では自主的な調査研究を行うことがあります。講師の指導のもと、研究を設計・実施し、研究プロジェクトの報告書を完成させることが求められます。

Higher Education Careers Services Unitのレポートによると、心理学の卒業生は、学位コースの中で採用される可能性が高く、失業する可能性が低いことがわかりました。心理学の学位は、重要なスキルを身につけて職場で非常に求められている人材になります。また、心理学の学位を通して、様々な仕事タイプで活躍することが準備できました。

心理学者は、学校や病院、経営コンサルタント、ハイテク産業、プロのスポーツチームなど公共および民間部門を問わず多くの分野で活躍しています。多くの卒業生は、心理学の研究者や教師として活躍し、あるいは臨床やカウンセリング、教育や学校、工学、スポーツ、法医学、健康、産業/組織など分野でのキャリアを選択することになります。
